Fact-Checking Policy

Last updated: August 10, 2026

Recipe Haven distinguishes between a recipe instruction, an editorial preference, and a fact that can be independently verified. This policy explains how we review factual claims.

What we check

Fact-checking may cover:

  • Food-safety and storage guidance
  • Cooking temperatures and appliance instructions
  • Ingredient characteristics and substitution claims
  • Nutrition and health-related statements
  • Measurements, conversions, yields, and timing
  • Product names, manufacturer directions, and availability
  • Historical, cultural, or origin claims
  • Quotations, links, attributions, and study findings

Preferred sources

We prefer original and authoritative sources, including government agencies, universities, recognized professional organizations, peer-reviewed research, official product documentation, and direct statements from the organization or expert being discussed. Source quality is considered alongside relevance, recency, and context.

How claims are reviewed

Editors check whether a source actually supports the claim, whether important limitations have been omitted, and whether the wording is more certain than the evidence allows. Where reliable sources disagree, we aim to describe the uncertainty rather than present one view as settled fact.

Nutrition information

Nutrition values are estimates unless explicitly stated otherwise. Calculations can vary by brand, ingredient size, yield, optional ingredients, substitutions, and serving size. Estimated nutrition is not medical advice and should not be used as the sole basis for managing a health condition.

Freshness and updates

Some information changes over time. We may update links, product details, safety guidance, or explanatory text when newer authoritative information becomes available. A visible correction note may be added when a change materially affects the meaning of a page.

Reporting a factual error

Please email talhasebt11@gmail.com with the page URL, the statement you believe is inaccurate, and a reliable supporting source. We review credible reports under our Corrections Policy.
